Leta F. Myers, Ph.D.


Dr. Myers received her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Boston College and did post-doctoral work in Clinical Psychology at Pennsylavania State University. She has been a private consultant for social research and has been a supervising staff psychologist at the Altoona Hospital Community Mental Health Center. Dr. Myers is licensed to practice psychology in Pennsylvania.

In her practice with Centre Psychology Group, Dr. Myers conducts individual, couples, and family therapy, and is trained in clinical hypnosis. She works extensively with women who are survivors of physical and sexual abuse, and she has a special interest in posttraumatic stress disorder in abused women.

Dr. Myers was also the Director of the Women's Program at the Meadows Psychiatric Center for five years where she was instrumental in program planning and provided psychotherapy to women patients who suffered from a primary DSM diagnosis and who were also admitted to deal with issues of separation, divorce, grief, abortion, and miscarriage, adult children of alcoholics, prior and/or current physical and sexual abuse, and eating disorders. Dr. Myers is an Allied Health Professional at the Mount Nittany Medical Center.
